Why Does LEGO Ignore Girls?

Everyone in my house loves to play with LEGO. We even got to go on a great trip earlier this year with them.

But, when my Dad and brother got copies of the new LEGO Universe I was bummed to not find a single visible girl on the packaging anywhere and that made me start wondering why LEGO has always ignored their girl fans.

If you are a girl and a fan of LEGO let me know. Maybe they will listen and stop ignoring us.

    Hi emily I just wanted to say that lego games bother me too. but for a fact i do know that they sell girl lego figures like Princess Lea from starwars and Asaj ventrus from the clone wars. also i was in the mpac show alice in wonderland as a mouse. I go to your school too we played do it your own way 4 square.

    Hey,

    I’ve once noticed that LEGO hasn’t had many girls in its sets. I have reason for concern, being a human rights activist. But I think the situation is really improving. The ratio is geting higher, especially in the LEGO City-theme. You should take note that for the adventure-based themes, compare it to other toy companies and you won’t have a single female character. As for movies, let’s take Prince of Persia for example, there’s pretty much a single important girl.

    Now about LEGO Universe, I don’t think you’ve noticed that the ninja figure is a girl. Her name is Vanda Darkflame. And underneath a helmet you don’t know if it’s a male or female. I’ve played alongside female players in LU and there’s nothing sexist about the game. In fact, most of the female mission givers are awesome!

    That may have been the case once, but not anymore.
